Electricians in Conder
Conder stretches from the lower slopes of Tuggeranong Hill down to the flat floor of the Lanyon Valley, and it is where the valley does its shopping. Lanyon Marketplace, Lanyon High School and the Vikings club all sit here. We work on homes across the suburb, from streets named after Australian artists to the more recent estates on the eastern side.
Conder has two distinct groups of houses, and they ask us for different things. The original early 90s homes mostly want more capacity and better lighting. The newer releases already have modern wiring, so the work there is about adding to it.
Conder housing and the electrical work it brings
The suburb was gazetted in 1987 and the first families moved in from 1991. Since then, developments such as Eastern Valley Rise have added a newer layer of homes. Across the suburb, about four in five dwellings are separate houses and more than half have four or more bedrooms. There are some townhouses and a small number of units.
Big houses with growing families put real load on a 1990s switchboard. A common pattern: ducted heating has been swapped for split systems, the kitchen now has an induction cooktop, a second fridge lives in the garage, and the teenagers’ rooms are full of chargers and screens. The board was never sized for that. Breakers trip, there are no spare positions, and adding anything means a rethink of the layout.
Lighting is the other common gap in the older streets. Many houses from that era still have their first downlights, often halogen, which run hot in the ceiling and draw far more power than LEDs.
In the newer estates the wiring is current, and the conversations are about extras: data points, outdoor lights for the alfresco area, and getting ready for an electric car.
The jobs Conder residents ask about most
- Switchboards and power. The most common request from Conder. That covers bigger boards, dedicated circuits for kitchens and air conditioners, and fault finding when something keeps tripping. More on our switchboards and power page.
- Data and cabling. Wired network points for home offices, gaming and TVs, and tidying up the NBN connection point. See data and cabling.
- Lighting. Swapping halogens for LED downlights, plus sensor lights over driveways. Our lighting page lists the options.
- Solar, heating and EV charging. A smaller but steady share of requests. If you are adding solar and batteries or a car charger, we check the board first so the new gear has somewhere to connect.
How quoting works
Fill in the free quote form or ring 0434 913 935, and add a photo of the switchboard if you can. We get back to you within 24 hours, inspect the job, and give you a fixed price in writing. You know the cost before we start. Fused Electrical is licensed (476229C), insured and rated 5.0 on Google.
We work out of nearby Calwell, so Conder jobs are an easy trip for us. For the rest of the district, see our Tuggeranong page.
